How Online Classes Work
In online classes, you watch video lectures, participate in class discussions, submit assignments, and take tests on your computer.
You do this work using Blackboard, an online class management system. If you ever have a problem with Blackboard, you can get help by calling or emailing WCC’s Blackboard help desk. It’s open seven days a week.
You do all of your work based on the schedule in the class syllabus. Online classes follow the same semester calendar as on-campus classes.
Getting your books is easy. You can buy them from the WCC Barnes & Noble bookstore, either on campus or online.
We offer blended versions of many online classes. In most cases you just come to school once a week, and you gain the benefit of face-to-face discussions with your instructor and fellow students.more »
Save a trip to campus. Just fire up your computer webcam and microphone to talk to an advisor online.more »
What Students Say About Online Classes
“My teacher posted his lectures and activities on Blackboard weekly, so I was able to complete all required class work and tests at my own leisure. Most importantly, I learned a ton in the course, and my excellent instructor was available by email around the clock.”—Wendy L., 48
