How Online Classes Work

In online classes, you watch video lectures, participate in class discussions, submit assignments, and take tests on your computer.

You do this work using Blackboard, an online class management system. If you ever have a problem with Blackboard, you can get help by calling or emailing WCC’s Blackboard help desk. It’s open seven days a week.

You do all of your work based on the schedule in the class syllabus. Online classes follow the same semester calendar as on-campus classes.

Getting your books is easy. You can buy them from the WCC Barnes & Noble bookstore, either on campus or online.

Online Class Full?

We offer blended versions of many online classes. In most cases you just come to school once a week, and you gain the benefit of face-to-face discussions with your instructor and fellow students.

What Students Say About Online Classes

“I was very reluctant to take online classes, but because of my various roles as a wife, mother, full-time employee, and student my time was limited…. Online classes have helped with managing my time in these various roles, and have been a true blessing to both my family and my learning experience at WCC.”
