General Admissions Procedures

If you are enrolling to pursue a certificate or degree, preparing for transfer to another college or university, or exploring personal interests via a degree-credit course and you've graduated from a U.S. high school, you will be admitted and placed in classes based on your unweighted GPA or by other admission placement criteria.

  1. Apply
  2. Set Up Your NetID
  3. Identity Verification
  4. Transfer Credits to WCC
  5. Establish Your Academic Levels
  6. Complete Orientation

What to Expect: Applying is free and only takes about 10 minutes to complete. The application will allow you to upload your high school transcripts or unofficial college transcripts, if applicable, and other application materials. It can take up to one business day for your application to be processed. You will receive email communication with your WCC Student ID number in your "Welcome to WCC" email. Depending on your situation, you may have additional admissions checklist items to complete prior to being able to register for class.

Placement Testing Prerequisites & Corequisites

What to Expect: You will check the class schedule to see what classes WCC is offering and review your degree requirements to see which classes are required. Pay special attention to prerequisites and corequisites, which are classes or skill levels that are required before you can register for a course. Be mindful of payment deadlines to ensure you aren't dropped from your classes. If for some reason you decide you are unable to take the class, you should drop the class by the Last Day to Drop. If you just quit coming to class but do not drop it, you will still owe the College for tuition and fees.

What to Expect: Where you live (your residency status) determines your tuition rate, and you can review the WCC residency status criteria to prepare for your payment. If not using financial aid, set up a Student Payment Plan and/or Pay Your Bill. There are various ways to pay for your tuition. Each class lists the required books and supplies, including their cost. If you need help with the cost of your tuition, visit the Office or Financial Aid for loans and scholarships or Student Resource Center for emergency food and financial assistance.
