Holiday break network upgrades will bring outages

Network, wi-fi and phones will be unavailable according to the schedule below. ITS is upgrading the wireless controller, changing phone service providers and installing ethernet cabling and network switches in LA and GM.

Services Affected: Avaya IP office phone system, campus-wide wireless network, and networks in LA and GM.

— Network outage: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23. All computer, printer and other network connectivity (including wireless) will not be available.

— Campus wireless will also be down from 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29.

— Office phones and softphones will be down from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27.

— LA 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor and GM 3rd floor will be down from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31. All computer, printer and other network connectivity (including wireless) will not be available.

— Rolling server/network outages by building (generally lasting less than three hours each) will occur from 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 through 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3. All computer, printer and other network connectivity (including wireless) will not be available. All servers including VPN, all shared/network drives, anything requiring Single Sign-on (SSO), Blackboard, MyWCC, Pay Tuition, Register for Classes and Check Your Progress, Banner 8/9, Financial Aid Appeals System, Portal applications, FAMIS, SARS Appointment Scheduling, JATC 669 Moodle Testing Site, UltraTime and classroom labs will be unavailable.
