Phishing Email Alert, September 2

September 2, 2021 Washtenaw Community College

The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) has been getting reports of a phishing email that users are receiving. The subject of the email is "shared 'Document' with you." In an effort to trick users, the email says "FWD: Dr. Bellanca has share a file with One Drive." This is not the case. The email has a link you are asked to open. Upon clicking the link, you will be sent to a hacker website and asked for your ID and password. When the hackers get your ID and password, they will use your WCC email account to send out scam emails about a "BITCOIN JOB OPPORTUNITY."

Please delete any "shared 'Document' with you" or "BITCOIN JOB OPPORTUNITY" emails you may receive
.

If you clicked on the link and entered your ID and password, please change your password and notify the Help Desk at [email protected] or 734-973-3456.

If you have questions or need assistance, contact ITS at [email protected] or 734-973-3456.
