Fun With Winter Seed Sowing

Fun With Winter Seed Sowing is back!

Let nature do the work! Mimic Mother Nature by sowing seeds outdoors now through early March in DIY mini greenhouses with top and bottom ventilation. No winter watering is required. Rain and melting snow provide moisture while seeds are dormant through the winter. Spring brings magic. As temperatures rise, seeds germinate naturally. Monitor moisture, water as needed, and open lids during the day. Ready to grow! Once true leaves appear, transplant seedlings right into your garden.

WCC Seed Library is open and fully stocked with new seeds. Come visit the Seed Library at the WCC Bailey Library, 1st floor GM Bldg. Information about how to get started with winter seeds sowing and seeds available at Winter Seed Sowing Information - Seed Library At Washtenaw Community College - Research Guides at Washtenaw Community College.
