Join us for the Human Library @ the Bailey Library
Wednesday, March 24
12-3pm
In a Human Library, books are people. The books are not experts, they represent the diversity of our campus and community. Readers can "check out" a book to hear their personal story, engage in a dialog about their experience, and work toward breaking down barriers and eliminating prejudice. The Human Library reminds us that everyone has a story to tell.
The first Human Library was held in Copenhagen, Denmark by a small group of young people called “Stop the Violence” in 2000 and has since become an international effort. In bringing the Human Library to WCC, we are actively building community by showcasing our diversity and encouraging dialog.
How can I get involved?
- Share YOUR story and become a Book
- Visit the Human Library and read a book
- Promote the Human Library
- Encourage others to take part as books or readers
