The Nov. 6 Washtenaw Economic Club Luncheon featured Tim Skubick, who led an in-depth discussion on the results of the Nov. 4 election to more than 200 guests in the Morris Lawrence building at Washtenaw Community College.

With 45 years on the beat, Skubick is the longest-serving member of the state capitol press corps. He covers the capitol for WJBK-TV-2 and WWJ NewsRadio 950 in Detroit. He anchors Off The Record on Michigan Public TV and writes a daily column for MLive. com. He’s been awarded four Michigan Emmys and is a member of the Michigan Journalism and Broadcast Halls of Fame. He’s written two books on Michigan politics.

“Tim Stubick provided an entertaining presentation regarding his perspective of the election and the candidates,” said Michelle Mueller, WCC vice president of economic, community and college development. “I continue to be proud of the role that Washtenaw Community College plays with regard to organizing such events, which in no small part is due to the continued business sponsorships provided by Economic Club members.”

The Washtenaw Economic Club holds regular luncheons with influential guest speakers, providing a forum for identifying and discussing economic issues that directly impact the business community and to be a place “where leaders meet leaders.”

The Economic Club was founded in 1998 as a nonprofit that gathered business and political leaders, journalists, sports figures and other area celebrities. In 2010, the nonprofit disbanded and became a special program within WCC.
