Detroit-based artist Brach Tiller explores love, domesticity and shared dreams in
a new exhibit opening June 12 at The Gallery at Washtenaw Community College.
“Me & You: Paintings by Brach Tiller” runs through September 11 and is free and open to the public.
An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 12, and will feature an artist talk by Tiller at 6 p.m. Attendees will also have the opportunity to play indoor golf-inspired games provided by Ypsilanti-based Putt-R-Round, a playful connection to a series of work in the exhibit centered on golf balls.
Tiller calls his collection “a love letter” to his fiancée, the everyday experiences they share, and the life they hope to build together.
“The paintings in this show spotlight the things we make, eat, and dream of, and the metaphors that grow out of them,” Tiller said in an exhibit statement.
Tiller's work often examines intimacy, memory and everyday rituals through vibrant, layered imagery. More information about the artist and his work is available at brachtiller.com.
