Gateway Brings Single Sign-on to WCC

gateway

The WCC Gateway launched on Monday, March 10. It is the start of an ongoing process to enhance the WCC online experience for faculty, staff and students. Currently, the WCC Gateway is the single point of access for MyWCC, Blackboard, web based email and eBill for students. WCC faculty, staff and students only need to log in once to access all of these web based applications.

The launch of the WCC Gateway was a seamless process. Minor technical issues were resolved by the Help Desk within minutes of going “live.”

Here are a few tips when using the new gateway:

  • Outlook email users will notice that Outlook web access requires an additional sign-in. Single sign-on into Outlook web access will be addresses in a future update. For the time being, you will be required to re-enter your netID and password a second time.
  • In order to access Google Apps, visit the Faculty and Staff landing page on the WCC website. Click on the Google Drive link under the Computing section on that webpage. You will now access your Google Apps through Google Drive.
  • When logging out of the WCC web applications and the WCC Gateway, be sure to log out of each web application and the WCC Gateway. As a last precaution, be sure to close the browser.

The IT, Student Services and Web Services teams will be sending out a survey to faculty, staff and students later this week to capture further feedback on the new WCC Gateway. The data will be used to make future enhancements to the WCC Gateway and continue to improve the WCC online experience.
