A wide array of outstanding creative work from WCC students in a cross-section of disciplines within the Digital Media Art Department was on full display at the annual student portfolio show on April 30. Student work was represented in the areas of graphic design, photography, 3-D animation and digital video.

The Digital Media Arts department is recognized for its degree programs in Digital Film and Video, Graphic Design/ Illustration, and Photography.

The annual show is structured in segments. The students’ work is critiqued in the morning and then on display later in the afternoon for viewing by the public and prospective employers.

“The student portfolio show is the highlight of our year,” said Kristine Willimann, WCC graphic design faculty and digital media arts Photo student Jessica Pierce with her portfolio.student portfolio show co-chair. “Our student portfolios are of the highest caliber and reflect the creativity and levels of expertise of our highly renowned faculty.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include a digital production center, a professional photography studio with darkroom facilities and several MacIntosh computer labs. Additionally, our programs are structured for easy transfers to colleges such as the College For Creative Studies, the Brooks Institute For Photography and Eastern Michigan University, among others,” she added.

The Video department presented many student made films in the auditorium.
