V2X: Connect Car Camp

Anaily Smith and Jahi Hawkins use their hands to interact with their autonomous
vehicle’s sensors to change its direction during the V2X: Connect Car Camp held at WCC
in August. Students from ages 11 to 15 learned about advances in vehicle technology by
creating remote-controlled vehicles using wireless technology and programming that allowed
the cars to communicate with each other. Below, Adam Bunu follows his vehicle.
Below, instructor Robert Johnson shows Alex Phillips how to set up the computer
program for the vehicle. The camp was taught by Johnson and Barbara Land of the
Square One Education Network.
