About DeAnn Gapp
Since 2015, DeAnna Gapp has been a dedicated nursing instructor at WCC. With experience teaching at several universities, she finds particular fulfillment in working with community college students, whose dedication and resilience continually inspire her. As a first generation college student, her journey in nursing began with a degree from Monroe County Community College, finished by a Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a focus on Nursing Education from Eastern Michigan University.
Her clinical expertise centers on care for older adults, particularly in sub-acute rehabilitation and dementia care settings. More recently, she has broadened her practice to community health, working in clinics and home health environments. In addition to her teaching and clinical work, she frequently publishes and presents on topics in nursing education. For her, the most meaningful aspect of her work is supporting students committed to the next generation of nurses - increasing health outcomes for the general population.
