As a Veterinary Assistant, you will work alongside veterinarians to provide routine care, health evaluation and treatment for sickness or injury. Other duties may cover feeding, exercising and bathing animals, cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms, restraining animals during examinations, administering medication or vaccinations, and most importantly providing affection and a safe environment.
Our complete training program will prepare you for a rewarding career as a Veterinary Assistant in a variety of settings including veterinary hospitals, animal shelters and zoos without any previous experience or knowledge. This program covers veterinary terminology, office procedures, first aid for animals, farm animals and their health. Upon completion, you will be prepared to sit for the NCCB national certification exam to become a Certified Animal Care Worker (CACW).
