
From robotics and esports to space exploration and health care careers, Washtenaw Community College (WCC) will host nearly 20 hands-on STEM camps for youth ages 6-18 this summer.
Camps are designed to motivate and inspire future makers, engineers, explorers, technologists and professionals.

WCC SUMMER CAMPS
- Esports for Teens (ages 12-17, June 15-19) – If you have a passion for video games, technology and STEM, this immersive program covers the basics of esports, effective practice and the art of high-stakes competition.
- Robotics for Kids (ages 7-10, June 15-19) – In this high-energy camp, you’ll design, build and program your own robots to take on challenges, complete missions and go head-to-head in friendly competitions.
- Eureka STEM Maker (ages 9-12, June 15-19) – Campers will overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and the most important of all — their mind!
- Solar Power Party (ages 6-7, June 15-19) – Follow the sun on its arc through the sky at this camp all about our sun.
- Whiz Kids (ages 8-9, June 15-19) – Learn to think like a scientist and design like an engineer as you set out on daily excursions to conduct fun experiments.
- Konnichiwa Circuits! A Japanese STEM Adventure (ages 8-13, June 15-19) – Dive into a full week of hands-on STEM fun inspired by the wonders of Japanese culture!
- 3D Animation for Teens (ages 12-18, June 22-26) – In this workshop, you will learn how to get a jump on learning the entire 3D production pipeline (modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, rendering and compositing).
- NASA Space Explorers (ages 9-12, June 22-26) – Take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond as you explore planets, moons and other space phenomena in our solar system.
- STEM Innovation (ages 10-14, June 22-26) – Engage in hands-on activities like building robots, crafting circuits, 3D modeling & printing, coding with microcontrollers, exploring semiconductors and soldering your own gadgets.
- Health Care Career Exploration (ages 11-14, June 22-26) – This camp will give you an understanding of what’s involved in the medical setting with nursing and other health professions such as physical therapy, dietetics and more.
- Life Skills Lab (ages 11-14, June 22-26) – This interactive lab helps middle schoolers build healthy, real-world habits through hands-on activities, group challenges and honest conversations.
- LEGO Robotics Engineering (ages 11-14, June 22-26) – In this camp, you will learn EV3 to code LEGO® robotics and compete with other campers.
- Robotics for Kids (ages 7-10, June 22-26) – In this high-energy camp, you’ll design, build and program your own robots to take on challenges, complete missions, and go head-to-head in friendly competitions.
- Gizmo Garage (ages 6-7, June 22-26) – Brainstorm, build, test, improve and test again while crafting a gizmo, gadget, robot or other invention!
- Fantastical Fauna (ages 7-8, June 22-26) – Dream up a magical creature then ensure all its needs are met in its (real or fantasy) habitat.
- Unity AI Game Design (ages 12-14, June 29-July 2) – Learn to build your own video game for Android, iPhone or the web! Harness skills including C# programming, 3D animation, real-time physics simulations and industry-standard design practices.
- Brixology (ages 10-13, June 29-July 2) – In this camp we will explore: aerospace engineering to assemble a space station and mechanical engineering to help build boats and vehicles using LEGO bricks.
- Robotics for Kids (ages 7-10, June 29-July 2) – In this high-energy camp, you’ll design, build and program your own robots to take on challenges, complete missions, and go head-to-head in friendly competitions.
