Health & 2nd Tier programs use either a Competitive Admission or Limited Enrollment process. Each process determines how qualified applicants are considered for available program seats.
Competitive Admissions Process
Competitive Admission applies to programs classified as high-demand, where the number of qualified applicants exceeds the available program seats.
- Applicants must meet all admission requirements and criteria.
- Qualified applicants are evaluated using a point system, with admission offered based on the highest point rankings.
For additional details, review Admission to High Demand Programs board policy.

Limited Enrollment Admission Process
Limited Enrollment programs have a set number of available seats but are not classified as high demand programs. Admission is based on a first-qualified process, with seats offered to applicants who meet all admission requirements and criteria until all Accepted and Alternate Candidate seats are filled, or the application deadline is reached.
Exception: Post-Associate Certificate Programs
WCC students currently enrolled in the final year of a prerequisite associate degree program receive priority admission and continued enrollment, provided they apply by the priority application deadline.
- Priority Consideration: Eligible students are considered for a seat based on their application submission date, even if they are still completing final admission requirements during the semester before the program begins.
- Missing Priority Deadline: Students who miss the priority application deadline forfeit their priority status.
- After the Priority Deadline: Admission continues on a first-qualified basis until all Accepted and Alternate Candidate seats are filled or the application deadline is reached
