WCC Expands Reuse through new GovDeals Sales Platform

January 15, 2026 Rebecca Andrews

WCC’s Campus Services Team is pleased to announce a transition of its online surplus store to GovDeals, an online auction platform that will eventually serve as the new primary site for selling the College’s surplus property. During this transition, surplus items will be listed on both Public Surplus and GovDeals, with a full move to GovDeals expected over the coming months.

GovDeals provides services to government agencies, educational institutions, and municipalities, offering an online platform for the public sale of surplus assets. The site is widely recognized for its transparency, accessibility, and large community of active buyers and fits well with WCC’s Resource Recovery strategy.

WCC is committed to sustainable operations and community engagement. This change will enhance the College’s ability to connect with a broader audience and ensure surplus items are efficiently reused within the community. By selling surplus items through GovDeals, the College promotes reuse, reduces waste, and ensures that valuable resources remain in circulation. GovDeals has an extensive network of registered buyers, ensuring that the College will serve more individuals and organizations, increasing opportunities for items to find new life while supporting sustainability and responsible resource recovery.
