Student Support Resources
Academic Advising
It's a fact: students who work closely with an academic advisor for educational planning are more likely to succeed in college and achieve their educational goals.
Service Note: DegreeWorks will be unavailable Friday, March 3rd at 5:00pm until 8:00am Tuesday, March 7th. During this time, drop-in advising will be unavailable on Monday, March 6th.
Drop-In Advising
Quick questions; limited to 15 minutes
Monday - Thursday | 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The WCC Welcome Center will provide initial triage before transferring you to an advisor.
Advising Appointments
Students also have the option to schedule an advising appointment:
Monday - Thursday | 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Appointments are available in-person or virtually.
Success Coaches
Success coaches provide holistic, personalized, one on one support to students. New students are assigned a dedicated success coach based on their academic program.
Student Resource Center
Come talk to us if you are facing barriers to academic success or if you're in crisis for basic needs, like paying for food or child care.
Personal Counseling
Need a helping hand to get through a tough time? You’re not alone. No matter what challenges arise for you we’ve got your back.
Center for Career Success

Academic Support Resources
University Transfer Center
The University Transfer Center is here to help you through the transferring process. There are a few things to consider when deciding where to transfer, such as your overall goals, academic program, transferability of courses, tuition and fees, scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and class sizes.
Library
The Bailey Library provides the highest quality learning resources and services to the WCC community. Bring your questions to our librarians, who strive to be responsive, flexible, knowledgeable, and service oriented.
Learning Commons
The Learning Commons offers pathways for students to connect, integrate, and create ideas in order to deepen and develop knowledge. Here you can receive academic tutoring, improve technology literacy, develop study skills, and access computers and software to excel in coursework.
Study Help
Discipline specific group tutoring with WCC tutors. Drop-in for a quick question or stay for the whole session! Tutoring is live, via email, and conducted virtually!
Writing Center
Meet with our devoted and expert staff in a positive environment to get help with your writing. All students are welcome! Also, be sure to take advantage of their guides to grammar and writing.
Learning Support Services
To get started requesting accommodations students will need to register with LSS to create a student record and then request accommodations each semester. Contact 734-973-3342 or email [email protected].
Testing Center
Whether you are a student, faculty member, or guest, you can take advantage of testing services at WCC’s Testing Center.
Math Resource Center
The Math Resource Center provides tutoring services to improve your mathematical skills. You will also find 10 computers for your use, and information regarding math courses, procedures, schedules, and program requirements.
