October 25, 2021 Rebecca Andrews

Washtenaw Community College's Financial Services Division and Facilities Management Division are pleased to announce the launch of a new WCC Surplus Store.

WCC has long prioritized sustainable materials management and community partnerships. The new surplus store's goal is to maximize the reuse of items no longer required on campus, and work with the wider community to provide opportunities to purchase items and equipment which are suitable for reuse. Additionally, WCC will continue to work with local school districts and non-profits to ensure that everything that can be used elsewhere, is.

WCC seeks to develop and maintain sustainable material management projects, in line with its Sustainability Goals and to positivity impact the Triple Bottom Line which combines benefits to society, the environment, and finances.

The new store is located on the website Public Surplus, Public Surplus is a government surplus auction system. For more about WCC's Resource Recovery programs check out the Recycle Department's website and WCC's Sustainability pages.
