Apprentice Credit and UA STAR Exam

Get college credits for your apprenticeship

If you have completed your apprenticeship, you can get college credits for your experience which will help towards your degree.

UA members who achieved journey status:

  • After August 2000: you can receive 45 college credits for completing your apprenticeship experience.
  • Before August 2000: you need to pass the UA STAR exam in order to receive the 45 credits for your apprenticeship experience. Please contact your local training coordinator to set up an exam date and obtain study guides.

Credit breakdown

Three credits of math and 3 credits of science (6 total) are awarded within the 45 credits for completion of apprenticeship or the UA STAR exam.

How to get your credits:

  1. Complete the Apprenticeship Credit Request form
  2. Submit the completed form to WCC:
