Instructor Training

The Instructor Training program offered through the UA is considered one of the most successful training programs in North America. Since the 1980s, instructors of the skilled trades (welders, plumbers, pipefitters, sprinkler fitters, heating, ventilation and air conditioning technicians) from across the world come together to train their peers in the most contemporary methods for the next generation of skilled trades workers.

More than 2,000 instructors participate in the training program every August, which includes hundreds of first-year attendees. WCC’s partner, Destination Ann Arbor (formerly the Ann Arbor Area Convention and Visitors Bureau), welcomes the group with special events. These include the annual UA Block Party, followed by a networking event to benefit the Semper Fi Fund .
